Marie Curie fue la primera mujer en participar en congresos científicos.

Marie Salomea skolodowska - Curie, fue pionera en muchos aspectos. Su irrupción no solo marcó un antes y un después en la historia sino que permanece hoy en día.

Todos sabemos que Marie Curie fue la primera mujer en recibir un Premio Nobel, pero no todos saben que sería la primera mujer en participar con una alta relevancia en los eventos Solvay. 

Los congresos o conferencias de Solvay son una serie de eventos científicos que han sido celebrados desde 1911 y que, al comienzo del siglo XX, reunían a los científicos más importantes de la época. Era una versión primitiva de lo que hoy llamaríamos "networking", básicamente. Así se reunían personajes ilustres y se promocionaba el avance científico. Especialmente fue así con la mecánica cuántica.

Solvay congresses or conferences are a series of scientific events that have been held since 1911 and that, at the beginning of the 20th century, brought together the most important scientists of the time. 

It was a primitive version of what today we would call "networking", basically. 

This is how illustrious people met and scientific advancement was promoted. it was especially so with quantum mechanics.
